Description

Skimmed Milk Powder (SMP) is a dairy product produced by evaporating pasteurized skimmed cow’s milk. It retains the essential components of fresh milk such as lactose, milk proteins, and minerals but without the fat content. SMP is widely used in various food applications due to its versatility and long shelf life. It is commonly available in the following forms based on heat treatment during processing: 

  1. High-heat SMP: This type has the least solubility and is suitable for applications where a higher heat treatment is required.  
  2. Medium-heat SMP: This variety has moderate solubility and can be used in a wide range of food products.  
  3. Low-heat SMP: This type is the most soluble and is preferred for applications where minimal heat treatment is desired to preserve the flavor and nutritional properties of the milk powder. 

In addition, Spray-dried Skim Milk Powder is available in two main forms: 

  1. Ordinary or Non-agglomerated (Non-instant) SMP: This type of SMP is in a fine powder form and requires more effort to dissolve compared to agglomerated SMP. 
  2. Agglomerated (Instant) SMP: This variety has been processed to form larger, more easily soluble granules, making it quicker to dissolve in liquid and ideal for instant applications.

The SMP should be free from bacteria of the genus Salmonella. Microbiological criteria are often applied to assess the quality and safety of SMP. It is typically required that one gram of SMP should not contain more than 50,000 mesophilic bacteria, 10 coliforms, and 100 Staphylococcus aureus. These limits help to ensure that the SMP is of high quality and safe for consumption, meeting regulatory standards and consumer expectations.

The SMP is typically packaged in the following formats:25kg Multilayer Kraft Paper Bags: SMP is packed in 25kg bags made of multilayer Kraft paper, which helps to protect the powder from external elements and maintain its freshness and quality during storage and transportation. These bags are suitable for smaller-scale production or handling requirements. 

500-1,000 kg Big Bags (Bulk Bags): For larger quantities, SMP can be packaged in 500-1,000 kg Big Bags, also known as Bulk Bags or FIBCs (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers). These large bags are designed for efficient handling and storage of bulk quantities of SMP, making them ideal for industrial-scale production or processing facilities. 

Private Label and Custom Packaging: We also offer the option for private label packaging and custom packaging solutions upon request. This allows businesses to have their branding or specific packaging requirements tailored to their needs, enhancing product visibility and market appeal.

Shelf Life 

The product has a shelf life of 12-24 months from the date of production.

Cream Powder must be stored and transported in a cool, dry setting with temperatures below 25°C and relative humidity under 75%.
